The ideas are strong enough to cover up for the technical limitations of the special effects. Unfortunately too many modern film makers get that the wrong way round.Exploding Helicopterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16045345937871417288noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16605980.post-36999735759315760202011-11-28T12:45:46.211+00:002011-11-28T12:45:46.211+00:00Thank you, Barry! With more Hammer titles on the way in early 2012, as well as news that restoration work is being done on CURSE OF FRANKENSTEIN and HORROR OF DRACULA.<br />I only hope these HD masters will soon become available in the US.Mark Hodgsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08744056312268440003noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16605980.post-10247365130781801992011-11-28T07:44:26.416+00:002011-11-28T07:44:26.416+00:00Great review! Now if they'd only release a decent Blu-ray or anamorphic DVD copy in the States, my life would be complete.Barry P.https://www.blogger.com/profile/11251536316431708240noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16605980.post-9120337873181756622011-11-24T01:47:59.990+00:002011-11-24T01:47:59.990+00:00Ooh, that's true. I was thinking it would get a US DVD and/or BluRay release, but the same facts that caused the movie to be renamed for US audiences could make it unlikely that it will be released over here. Thanks for the info. The DVD, like the Blu-ray, is probably region-coded. You'll also need a multi-region DVD player to watch this PAL DVD in the US.Mark Hodgsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08744056312268440003noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16605980.post-11462212697816133342011-11-21T07:37:43.470+00:002011-11-21T07:37:43.470+00:00Thank you for this review. "Five Million Yea...Thank you for this review. "Five Million Years to Earth" was a TV favorite of mine as a kid. I still love it and have been waiting for a new DVD release--as the last one is out-of-print and seems to be tough to find (as well as expensive when it CAN be found). One question, the image at the top of this post indicates that this release contains both Blu-Ray and DVD. Is that correct? I don't have Blu-Ray, but was considering picking this up even if it's only available in Blu-Ray because I love the film so much. Obviously I'm going to have to go Blu-Ray eventually.Monster Dadhttp://monsterdad69.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.com
